Gibson & Barnes manufactures flight suits, uniforms, jackets, and personal body cooling systems. We distribute Gentex air crew and Ops-Core tactical helmets, and we manufacture communications cables and equipment for them.
More than 60,000 customers in the United States, Canada, and 50 other countries use our products every day.
We supply air-medical transport, both aviation and tactical law-enforcement, NASA astronauts, the U.S. and international armed forces, agricultural aviation, and commercial helicopter operators. Nearly every test pilot in the western world uses items manufactured by Gibson & Barnes.
You’ve seen our products worn by the Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, and recently by astronauts aboard the International Space Station. And at the movies, we have supplied Top Gun, Hunt for Red October, and Ghostbusters and many more.
We started manufacturing in 1977 with two sewing operators in a 1,000 square foot building. Over the years we slowly added products and customers, and today we have two 30,000 square foot factories and 115 skilled manufacturing employees.
Our original products were fire-resistant and cotton/polyester flight suits for test pilots and police helicopter units. Today we still make flight suits, but we’ve gradually added the products you see on our web site.
Most of our products are made to the customer’s order, many of them to your individual measurements. Our skilled employees and hi-tech computerized design, cutting, and sewing systems help us make exactly the product you expect.
