Gibson & Barnes flame-resistant sports bra is flame-resistant, breathable, moisture-wicking, and anti-microbial.
It is an ideal replacement for bras made from synthetic fabrics that can melt when your flight suit is exposed to flame. The synthetic materials used in most bras can cause thermal injury. They have a low melting point that causes them to change from a solid to a liquid, to char, and even ignite, when exposed to flame.
Cotton, wool, and poly-cotton perform better than silk, nylon, or polyester, but the best alternative today is an inherently flame-resistant fabric such as Nomex® or Modacrylic.
Gibson & Barnes flame-resistant sports bra is made from a comfortable, hi-tech blend of 70% Modacrylic, 23% Tencel, and 7% Lycra knit. The fabric is not only flame-resistant, but is breathable, moisture-wicking, and anti-microbial as well. It is sewn with Nomex thread.
