Kryo Ice Chillers

Kryo chillers hold ice and ice water. They pump the ice water to the cooling garment and return warm water back to the chiller where it is again cooled by the ice.

  • Kryo ice chillers are available in 13, 19, and 30 quart sizes
  • Kryo uses a powerful pump regulated to deliver a steady flow of ice water to the user
  • Kryo’s pump is protected by a metal pump box that also channels ice water to it.
  • Kryo power connections are standard 12-volt, 2.1mm X 5.5mm plugs and jacks. All electrical components plug together without wiring or soldering except for the direct connection cable.
  • Kryo chillers can cool one or two people.

The chillers below include the chiller with a pump box, water pump, and electrical power lead terminated in a standard 2.1mm x 5.5mm jack. You should purchase the water hose, cooling garment, power source, and accessories separately

Kryo cooling systems keep you cool until the ice in the chiller melts and the water warms. If you replenish the ice, Kryo cooling systems can cool you indefinitely.

Factors that affect the system’s operating time:

  • Size of the chiller      Large chillers cool longer than small chillers
  • Number of users        Two users shorten the cooling time about 40%
  • Type of ice                   Block ice lasts longer than ice cubes which last longer than crushed ice
  • Ice Replenishment     If ice can be replenished, the chiller can cool you indefinitely

Kryo Cooling Systems were tested in a heat chamber with a heated sweating mannequin.

Cooling Time Test Conditions:

  • 13-Quart chiller filled with ice cubes and 2 quarts of cold water
  • 19-Quart chiller filled with 1 block of ice topped with ice cubes and 3 quarts of cold water
  • 30-Quart chiller filled with 2 blocks of ice topped with ice cubes and 4 quarts of cold water
  • Sweating mannequin at ASTM Standard temperature of 95° F
  • Ambient air at ASTM Standard temperature of 95° F
  • One Kryo cooling garment
  • Cooling time includes the time to melt the ice and raise the water temperature to 72° F
  • If your operating conditions are different, your cooling times may be different.
